Compressor

1.

The compressor increases the pressure of the refrigerant and moves the refrigerant in the cycle.

Condensor

2.

This is where the refrigerant releases heat and condenses from gaseous phase to liquid phase.

Evaporator

3.

This is where the refrigerant absorbs heat and evaporates from liquid to gas. It is the same as the condensor but works in the opposite direction.

Expansion Valve

4.

The expansion valve depressurizes the refrigerant. It is assumed to not take in or output any mechanical work.
